Sunday Morning

I was born in Brooklyn, NY, but grew up in the South. In my family, we went to church every Sunday and as long as I can remember, Sunday morning was a time when ladies attended church wearing beautiful, stylish hats in all shapes, sizes, and colors. That tradition is something that has always been deeply meaningful to me. Sunday morning hats were a way of expressing their faith and showed respect for the church service. It also reminded me of the strength of the matriarchs in my family who held our family together no matter what. The tradition of wearing hats on Sundays still carries with me today – it’s a reminder that no matter how life changes or how far we go from home, it’s important to stay connected to our roots and never forget where we come from.
